I had my first exam today. It kicked off with a nice little moment of blind panic when I thought there wasn't actually a question on the topic I'd spent most of my time revising. It was well hidden, but it was there. So now I feel better about this whole horrific ordeal we call exams. So I've been thinking about our society's general belief that you should never choose your friends or your boyfriend over your family. It's based on very admirable logic; that your family will never let you down whereas your peers are renowned for doing just this. However, doesn't this logic depend entirely on the people involved? Your boyfriend will only let you down if that is the kind of person he is, just as your family will only stay by your side if that is the kind of people they are. What if your family lets you down? This is hardly unheard of. The conclusion I must come to is that it is the family that tell you to put your family firs

The weather outside is glorious, and for once this is a bad thing. A volcano has erupted in Iceland and is spewing ash over Europe, keeping the planes of Britain grounded until further notice. According to the fountain of all knowledge, my dad, all we need is some rain, but it is now that we are being given the sunshine we usually crave. Anyway I've got my exams in a few weeks and I haven't started revising yet. To be honest I don't really know what I'm supposed to be doing. And I have little enthusiasm for it.
